Bible Club is a place that is hosted at the school in the German room for everyone to come worship God and learn about God. The Bible Club is hosted every Monday and Wednesday at 7:30-8:20 for people to come and praise Jesus. The Bible Club is hosted by Ace Dotson, Wyatt Boeckl, Leila Eastman, and Jeff Dahlin.
Ace, Wyatt, and Leila all show strong leadership and set a welcoming environment for students. Bible Club is a place where fellow Christians and non-Christians come to grow closer together in their faith.
Bible Club is run by students at OCHS, so they can help spread the word of God across our school and to help and pray for people in need of prayer. The Bible club hasn’t been around forever. It was first started by Deon Best. Best had the idea to bring Bible Club to high school to help draw people’s attention towards God.
I asked Dotson what drew him to Christianity and Dotson’s quote was, “Christianity is not found in a church building it’s found in Jesus himself, the focus should be on Him not the people who say they know Him, the truth will and always will be Him.”
Dotson’s question to him was what made you wanna start a bible club at our school. Dotson’s answer was, I thought it was important to keep it going so students who are Christian but don’t have access to church or to a Bible can come to Bible Club and meet people who like them and grow in their faith and also for people who just want to find something deeper in life or just want to see what Jesus is all about, anyone is welcome.
Eastman’s quotes are, “you’ll starve if you only eat on Sunday,” and “just because you don’t see anything happening doesn’t mean God isn’t working”.
Eastman’s question was, “what made you become a leader of the Bible Club at our school.” Eastman’s response was, “well I started going to Bible Club at the end of my freshman year and throughout my sophomore year and I just loved going because of the community and it was a great way to start my day.” The leader last year, Brayden, who was a senior and graduating so they had to find a new leader. Frau Seigneur, talked to Eastman, Dotson, and I about being leaders. And we were all in for it. I wanted to become a leader, because I wanted to help believers at our school feel a sense of community and not be ashamed to spread the gospel at our school. I wanted to help people grow in their faith or come into faith for their first time. I really just wanted to grow a Bible Club and get more people to come together to be in their faith with Gods words and praise him together.
